In short: business-to-business only, relevant messages, a working opt-out in everything you send — and never any consumer alcohol marketing.
1. Why this policy exists
Contactify supplies business contact data so that companies can start relevant conversations with other businesses. This policy sets out the standards every client agrees to when using our data. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
2. Business-to-business only
Use the data only to contact people in their professional capacity, about matters relevant to their role and their company. Never use it to contact people about personal or consumer matters.
3. Principles for lawful outreach
- Be relevant. Contact people whose role and company genuinely match what you offer.
- Be transparent. Identify your company clearly, and use honest subject lines and call introductions.
- Always offer an opt-out. Include a working unsubscribe link, or a clear reply-to-opt-out, in every marketing email.
- Honour opt-outs promptly — within 10 business days at the latest — and permanently.
- Keep a suppression list and apply it before every campaign.
- Respect frequency. Keep follow-up sequences proportionate; don’t flood inboxes.
4. Know the rules where you send
| Region | Key rules | Headline requirements |
|---|---|---|
| United States | CAN-SPAM Act; TCPA | Accurate headers and subject lines, a physical postal address and an opt-out honoured within 10 business days. Strict limits on automated calls and texts to mobile numbers. |
| EU & EEA | GDPR; national ePrivacy laws | A documented legitimate-interest basis, transparency to recipients and an easy way to object. Some countries require prior consent even for B2B email. |
| United Kingdom | UK GDPR; PECR | Corporate subscribers can generally be emailed with a clear opt-out; sole traders and partnerships need consent. |
| Canada | CASL | Implied consent can apply to conspicuously published business addresses when the message is relevant to the recipient’s role. Identification and unsubscribe are always required. |
| India | DPDP Act, 2023; TRAI TCCCPR | Respect the National Do Not Call registry for commercial calls and SMS, and use registered headers and templates for bulk messaging. |
| Australia | Spam Act 2003 | Consent — including inferred consent for published business addresses where relevant — plus sender identification and a functional unsubscribe. |
This summary is general information, not legal advice. Take advice on the rules that apply to your own campaigns.
